I've worn these boots with thick socks ultra, but only because my feet get so unbearably cold. There was enough space to mount my socks and foot comfortably. the only downside I see to this is that if you decide to wear a normal or thin sock, shoe probably doesn't fit perfectly around the foot area. the ties that has helped us do that fits around my leg and thick socks, it was just perfect.
